TEACHING

“The secret in education lies in respecting the student.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

For over ten years, Nathan Dugi-Turner has been providing piano and keyboard lessons to students of all ages throughout Southern California. Learn music in the comfort of your own home, or travel to Nathan's studio in Chatsworth, CA for a discounted rate.

Nathan's teaching approach is diverse and highly tailored to the interests and goals of the individual. Material covered includes music theory, ear training, sight reading, improvisation, as well as the in-depth study of pieces from both the classical repertoire, as well as pop, rock, blues, and other contemporary styles.

Although note reading, classical finger technique, and careful score study are emphasized, students are also introduced to the concepts of harmony, rhythm patterns, chord charts, and other devices that allow them to start playing by ear, and to create their own arrangements of popular songs.

Music lessons should be fun, and should consistently challenge the student to be better than they were before. This combination of high standards and sensitivity to the personalities of each student has resulted in a long list of happy clients and satisfied students.
